Door Magic

Today's agenda consists of painting some exterior doors ... stay tuned for the results! What color is your front door?

  1. Oooh! I always liked the idea of painting the front door some color that stood out. Ours is like a bronze color I think. Meh, it's boring. It wouldn't be so boring if the door itself had some character to it, but it's just a plain old door. I can't wait to see what yours looks like!

  2. Gasp! I don't know what color my front door is!! I've lived here nearly a year! (We use back door.) I DO know everything about the flower beds, trees, and locations and residents of many bird nests.....Haha, finding this insightful. Loving the orange/red/yellow doors and the "letters" slot on the one. Happy door painting!

  3. My front doot is terrible!! It's beige. No other way to describe it, it's awful. Can't wait to see yours!

  4. On our gray house, going from a white door to a dark green one made SUCH a change! Totally added so much character and "pop". Can't believe I just said pop but I don't know how else to describe it :) I almost went with bright orange, but I like the much more classic and crisp look of the dark door against the bright white trim.

Your new house looks beautiful already. I can't wait to see what you do with it. And once again, I am so jealous !!

  5. Ours is basically a simple, white door. But whatever your front door's color is, you need to be proud of it! The key to having a sense of uniformity to the overall design of the house is to give your door the same color as the rest of the house. BTW, what color did you choose? I hope you made a great decision with the color. Cheers and congratulations, in advance! :)

  6. Our white house has a white-colored entry door. But I’m thinking of changing the color to something with more flavor to it. Blue perhaps. It would be a delight to see a royal blue colored front door on my white house for a change. :D Because I see my door as a statement on the overall tone or feel of my house.

  7. Our front door is an antique hardwood which we repainted with dark mahogany. It’s a good thing that the door still has some years to it. It has seen a lot of bad weather, though. We maintained it with recoats and, of course, we patch it up when needed.

  9. Are there any updates on the door? Ours is a red-colored door on a hard brick colored house. I’m also thinking of repainting the door to give some contrast to the bricks. I might go for a yellow door this time around.

  10. I second Marla. I’m interested in how it turned out. Our door has the color mint green. It’s very cool and fresh looking. However, I want to re-paint it sometime in the future. I’m considering a red shade since I think it will go well with our white sidings. Re-painting a door will definitely help protect its wood and lengthen its service life.

  11. People usually choose the color white for their doors. Though there are those who prefer dark colors, red or a yellow is indeed quite unusual. Nevertheless, it’s your choice. If in this way, your door will look exceptional, then go for it! ;)
