Usually on Pi day you might be in the mood for a winter pie, perhaps a good apple pie. This year in Shelbyville, IL we're nearing 80 degrees on March 14th. I wish I was more prepared for summer, but instead my kids are wearing tight shorts (from last year) and spring sneakers. In spite of our unpreparedness for this early heat, we will be enjoying a homemade blackberry pie this evening. Blackberries were 1.80 at the market today, so I got lucky and we're embracing the summer weather through dessert.
